It might sound strange for a successful gamer like Fredrik 'MaDFroG' Johansson to lack confidence, but according to his interview with SK that was his state of mind heading into Gamescom. The Swedish legend claimed that he would have been happy with finishing 3rd in his group but in reality he went through in 2nd place. In fact, since this interview was recorded before the final group stage match, he still had a chance to top the group if he had beaten Dario 'TLO' Wünsch.

However, despite his lack of confidence he was not nervous. "I think I have more offline experience," was the reason he gave for his success so far in the tournament, as well as his calm head in-game.
