Testie quits gaming, European teams in trouble

ImageNick "Testie" Perentesis quits gaming due to real life reasons. KD Gaming disbands. Fnatic restructures, takes in 3 inFlux Gaming players.

The past couple days were very interesting for the Heroes of Newerth competitive scene, not because of exciting match-ups and big money tournaments, but because of numerous players swapping teams, taking a break from Heroes of Newerth or quitting gaming all together!

CA of SK Gaming , the star StarCraft: Brood War and Heroes of Newerth player, unfortunately had to stop gaming completely, due to real life reasons.

Here is what US Robert 'Bdiz' Tinnes had to say about his departure:

"Unforunately, due to recent events in his real life, Testie was forced to quit gaming as a whole, and thus leaving a huge void in our team. He's a superb player and it'll be impossible to replace him, as his individual skill, team leadership and positive attitude were a huge attribute to our team. We've still got a strong group of players, and we're already trying out a select few individuals to join our ranks and we've all wished Testie the best of luck in dealing with the current situation that surrounds him, as it is a very trying time for him."

The SK Gaming staff would like to take this opportunity to wish Testie the best of luck.

There is also no doubt in our minds that our Heroes of Newerth team will continue to be one of the strongest teams in the world and continue to have a huge impact on the competitive scene.

The two top European teams, DE KD-Gaming and FI fnatic are going through rough times as well.

KD Gaming got the short end of the straw and disbanded as DE Rene 'Kebap' Werner, DE Marc 'Mag1x' Müller, PL Remigiusz 'Powzilla' Pusch and DK Mathias-Benjamin 'SemiJew' Larsen decided to go separate ways after DE Kai 'H4nn1' Hanbückers joined the army and DE Levent 'LevenT' Isyapar left Heroes of Newerth to try his luck in StarCraft 2.

The rumor was that the same will happen to the Fnatic team after FI Antti 'Rexi' Saarenpää joined the army and DE Julius 'Kay' Fraatz and FI Jesse 'budgi' Kuusisto left them after some internal issues arose. However, the 3 remaining players DK Henrik 'Freshpro' Hansen, FI Kalle 'Trixi' Saarinen and FI Aku 'duQi' Hyttinen decided to merge with three players from inFlux Gaming's HoN team, namely "Bot", "NoVa_" and "N0tail" - and form a new Fnatic.HoN roster.

The end result of all this is still uncertain and it remains to be seen what impact it'll have on the competitive scene and Heroes of Newerth as an e-sport in it's infancy. One thing is certain, though: interesting times are ahead of us.
