QuakeCon 2010 with $52,500 in prizes
The tournaments and total prize fund for 2010's edition of QuakeCon have been announced.

The tournaments and total prize fund for 2010's edition of QuakeCon have been announced.QuakeCon 2010 is drawing ever closer and more information on the tournament is beginning to reveal itself. Today the organizing committee announced the competition's prize fund and tournaments.
Just like last year's event both capture the flag and duel tournaments will feature, with an open tournament once again being introduced for "amateurs and up-and-coming competitors".
The Intel-sponsored Masters Championship, open to 64 of the world's top duelers, boasts a huge $25,000 prize pool with $14,000 heading to the victor.
Just like the Masters Championship the CTF tournament will also have a $25,000 prize pool, again with $14,000 going to the winning quartet.
The open tournament, open to 128 players, has been allocated $2,500 in total. $1,500 is the prize for placing first.
QuakeCon 2010 will take place from August 12 through to August 15 at the Hilton Anatole hotel in Dallas, Texas, USA. For those planning to go and watch the action live, a newly created 250-seat tournament arena has been put in place for your benefit.
Registration for all tournaments is open from now until August 12.
