After twelve years of the single most-popular RTS title of all time, a sequel has finally been unleashed! The first official word of StarCraft II came during the sunny hours of Blizzard Entertainment's World Wide Invitation on May 18, 2007, over three years ago. The next major intake of information that would set the stage for the future of the game came the following year, at BlizzCon 2008 on October 10, when it was announced that the game would be split into a trilogy. The final piece of information that would ultimately determine StarCraft II's direction as an eSport was at BlizzCon 2009, where it made public that Battle.net would tie every aspect of the game into a highly-interactive community. Now, at long last, the highly-anticipated game with a successful beta period has hit store shelves and opened the doorway for the digital players.
With this release, we will be seeing a grand emergence of StarCraft II within the eSports scene, beyond the scope already set during the beta period. Major multi-platform tournaments, such as ESL, have declared their early support of the game, which already is looking at cash prizes that will eventually reach the comparable heights of previous StarCraft and Warcraft III tournaments. Meanwhile, major counterpart organizations to SK Gaming, such as fnatic , Mousesports , mTw and Meet Your Makers have already set out to test veteran players in the early stages of the game. However, only now, with a wider, more opportunist player base, will the real eSports scene truly be set.
Beyond an ardent community support for the game, the development will still continue, with two expansion sets to come in the relatively near future. Incidentally, the game is really now just starting.

Many of you are probably wondering whether SK Gaming has some plans for this new star RTS? Well, you will just have wait and see!
