ImageEvil Geniuses came up with the big plays down the stretch to put away a resurgent mouz side who were threatening to get back into the inferno game with strong CT play.

Evil Geniuses have picked up a result which not only puts them in good stead to pass through their group in first place but also gives them a major boost of confidence as they took down Mousesports in a back and forth game of runs on inferno.

Mousesports 12:18 Evil Geniuses (inferno 6:9, 6:9)

First half

With mouz starting out as terrorists they secured the pistol round and a 3:0 lead but then EG put together their key stretch of the game. Winning six rounds in a row they frustrated the mouz offense and put themselves immediately in good position come the switch at half time, regardless of what else happened.

gfn and lurppis were the men of the hour during this run. On the 4th round mouz attempted to go B against an EG side who had 2 famases to go along with usps. Three kills from gfn helped turn the round into EG's favour and kickstart their charge back in the score column. The American again came through in the 7th as he killed two to retake A after fRoD had earlier killed two at middle.

lurppis helped seal a big time round earlier on as three kills from n0thing still left the Finn in a 1v2 with the bomb planted in B. Two kills later and EG were up another round. Three more kills came from the Finnish player in the 8th as mouz attacked A. mouz looked mildly confused and a little disorientated as they default setup didn't work against an EG team who mixed up positions and were looking in the right spots at the right time.

Two kills from gob b on the 10th round at B got mouz their 4th round of the game and despite giving up the 11th round to EG after two kills apiece from Storm and lurppis the Germans would get their own run to end the half. The last two went their way and it ended 9:6 to EG.

Second half

When Storm and lurppis turned a 2v4 on their terrorist pistol into a win for EG at A, thanks to two kills each, EG looked to put themselves in a commanding position. However, the Germans have been known to work magic with those deagles before and that was to be the case again. As EG attacked B gob b killed two with his deagle and then got a third in impressive fashion to win turn to round to his team's favour. With EG buying deagles and a single galil over the next two rounds mouz got a three round win streak going, the 18th coming on a 4v4 retake at A where they lost no men.

EG replied with their own three win run, two coming with mouz saving and one with them ecoing and deagling. The 21st round was big as three kills from n0thing as they headed A really broke open the round for the Americans. They sat at 13:9 after their run.

mouz still had life left in them and as EG attacked B cyx held the site for long enough with two beautiful headshots to go along with Tixo's two kills. The latter added three more the very next round as EG attacked A and he flashed and stepped out perfectly in synch to mow down EG players. gfn found himself 1v1 against Kapio and after faking going B he died moments after planting when the German got position on him. A full 4v4 retake without a death once more from mouz on the 25th round put the score at 13:12 for the Americans and suddenly mouz were threatening one of their impressive CT comeback wins on inferno.

EG got within one round of denying a possible loss by getting into B and mouz saving three colts. The most crucial round of the game for EG came on the next, and 27th round overall, as they took B and the mouz retake was broken up early by two big kills from n0thing onto the players coming from the back alley. EG's young superstar would add three more on the following round to cap his team's victory over a side who have had their number on this map in the past.
