Patch 17 with "un-buffs," not nerfs

ImageA new patch hits the SC2 beta today but instead of buffs and nerfs, it is merely reverting some undocumented changes from patch 16.

The 2nd phase of the Starcraft II beta came online just a few days ago and already it has a new update. However, rather than the usual buffs, nerfs and additions, Patch 17 is more like a throwback to phase one.

When Phase two began it brought with it a lot of changes. Most of the documented ones were to do with the game's infrastructure, such as achievements and battle.net 2.0. However, a few undocumented changes to the gameplay were also added to the game and it turns out that Blizzard wasn't happy with them all. The full list of changes in the new patch looks like this:

"- 250mm Strike Cannons can no longer deal damage to hidden targets.
- Barracks build time decreased from 65 to 60 seconds.
- Bunker build time decreased from 40 to 30 seconds.
- Canceling morphing Banelings now returns 75% of the cost like other morphing Zerg units.
- Hellion range reverted from 6 to 5.
- Reaper build time decreased from 45 to 40 seconds.
- Zealot build time decreased from 38 to 33 seconds."

Although it looks like a lot of buffs to terran, these build times were actually the norm when phase one ended. Blizzard has tried out some tweaks and now it seems that they didn't play out as planned so they are putting them back to the previous values.
