Mouz skip WCG Germany qualifier

ImageMouz's trouble WCG history continues as they decide to pull out of the WCG qualifier due to finding out roman and cyx would not be able to play if they missed the first day.

It had been reported that Mousesports would use a complex system of stand-ins for each day of the German WCG qualifier but now they will skip the event entirely.

HLTV.org explained that due to Roman 'roman' Ausserdorfer and Antonio 'cyx' Daniloski being unable to play on the first day they would not be permitted to participate for the team the next day. With confirmed attendances at GameGune and IEM Shanghai later this month the German team has plenty to focus on besides this qualifier.

This is a familiar story for Mousesports and German CS in general as their country has been plagued by the success of Mouz lineups containing non-German players. In the past it was the likes of gore and Papst who had to be replaced come qualifying time but in more recent times gob b has been the odd man out. In all of these cases replacing such core players meant playing with essentially a mixteam and thus being weakened at the Grand Finals if they qualified.

Last year's WCG experience for Mouz went from disappointing to humiliating as they not only failed to qualify from their group but finished the tournament with a 14:16 loss to Belarus' SnG.maxigame. The Germans lost their terrorist side on train 1:14 and despite winning 13 on their CT side still gave up the upset to the underdogs.

Germany's only major successes in the Counter-Strike portion of the WCG came in 2001 and 2002 as mTw.de won a silver medal and Mouz a bronze, respectively. This year's withdrawl also means a missed opportunity to see Christian 'Blizzard' Chmiel back in action.
