SK AzZze recreates German World Cup tie

ImageSK Gaming's FIFA player AzZze performed a virtual incarnation of Germany vs. Ghana at Schalke 04's stadium just minutes before the actual World Cup match kicked off.

Patrick 'AzZze' Straschek experienced the World Cup in two ways. Before watching his native Germany take on Ghana in their final group stage fixture the SK Gaming FIFA player played the match, virtually, on the official FIFA World Cup game.

Taking place at the Veltins-Arena, home of Bundesliga club Schalke 04, 10,000 people packed into the stadium ahead of the World Cup game. But ahead of kick off the spectators were treated to a performance from the Hermes House Band and also watched AzZze, who played as Germany, defeat his opponent, who of course played as Ghana, 2-0.

"Overall it was a great experience to play in front of 10,000 people and to be hailed as a hero by them," AzZze said of the experience. For his triumph he was rewarded with a copy of the official FIFA World Cup game for the PlayStation 3 along with an official Germany jersey.
