Lyn has emerged victorious from the ESWC grand final by defeating Moon in straight maps.Moon's quest to add ESWC and WCG to his long list of honours will have to wait another year after his finals defeat to June 'Lyn' Park. The orc player from We Made Fox took down his team-mate in two straight maps to win his first event since Blizzcon 2009.
Turtle Rock began in typical orc-vs-elf fashion with the blademaster and demon hunter vying for an advantage. A creep-jack from Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang went awry, however, when he lost his beastmaster around the eight minute mark. Just seconds before that, he also ran his low health DH into some creeps, leaving Lyn with full map control. Lyn pressed the advantage, killing the altar, a chunk of DoTTs and a newly-hired tinker. He backed off with his own army hurt but in tact, but he never let his advantage slide. He pushed back into Moon's base, killed the DH and left again. The final battle turned into a massacre in the middle of the map. Lyn's superior heroes and larger army proved overwhelming and the final was now tilted 1-0 in his favour.
Echo Isles started in a similar back and forth style until Moon seemed to go for a push of some kind with a naga, some archers and mercs as well as a handful of wisps. But Lyn forced it back with relative ease by killing the naga. Both players then backed off to creep, but while Lyn cleared started his expansion and got a level three TC, Moon was jacked twice by the blademaster and then forced to port out when his DH got surrounded. The game, and the match, ended anticlimactically when Lyn again trampled all over Moon's army. Two tavern revives did nothing but feed exp to Lyn's heroes and the orc legend was ESWC champion moments later.
