SK Gaming are in the final of ESWC, having vanquished two-time champions FX and their crew of legends two maps to none.SK Gaming have reached the final of ESWC, the first in the history of the organization for Swedish male Counter-Strike. Standing between them an that final spot was the Polish Frag eXecutors side, who have been a shadow of their former selves in recent tournaments but nontheless were shooting for their third straight ESWC final (not including the missing year of no ESWC Grand Final) and playing with confidence.
SK managed to come through the series in two maps to move past the Poles but it was not by any means an easy matter as FX found ways to get runs together and get back into games, resulting in two games which ended up almost in contention before the Swedes put them away.
SK Gaming 16:11 Frag eXecutors (train 8:7, 8:4)
Despite an FX pistol round win at inner, thanks to three kills from kuben, when SK bought on the 3rd round and won they began an 8 round run. On the 10th round FX lost but TaZ, who was saving an AWP, aced the SK players who were trying to hunt him down. From there FX got the ball rolling for themselves and managed to pull out five in a row to end the half only one round down. This came thanks to a 1v2 from TaZ on the 11th and then neo being neo at outer.
The Polish demigod got into his flow where his famas becomes as good as opposing players' colts. Two kill rounds from him on te 12th and 13th rounds were followed up by a spectacular four kill AK round in the 14th from up the ladder.
SK won their CT pistol thanks to two kills from Gux and two from face. In the 20th round face won a 1v1 with kuben to make it 12:8 overall. walle won his own 1v1 in the 22nd round to make it 14:8. FX tried to hold off a seemingly inevitable loss as three impressive headshot kills from Gux were countered by three from neo at outer. The key rounds though were the 26th where allen and walle killed two apiece and the 27th where face won one of his charateristic 1v1s coming from inner to outside, against pasha.
SK Gaming 16:10 Frag eXecutors (dust2 12:3, 4:7)
The final map looked a little closer on the final score than it was in reality as a monster 12 round terrorist half for SK put them close enough to victory FX would have needed an in-form LUq to walk through the door and somehow help them replicate their finest past performances when they were offensive titans for them to pull through to a deciding map. That didn't happen of course and FX will instead go into the 3rd place decider hoping to still finish top 3.
