When Danny 'fRoD' Montaner was asked about his past ESWC experiences in 2005 and 2006, and what his expectations were coming into this years event four years later, he had the following to say:
"I expect us to get somewhere in the same region as we did in ESWC 2006 which was making it to the playoff stage and getting top eight at very least. From there, I know that we can come in the next day and get our momentum and if we do well in the first few games, the sky is the limit for us and I think we can repeat what we did in 2005 which was bring home the gold. Given the tournament format and what not, I think it favors us well because it allows us to potentially get any hiccups out of the way possibly in the group stage, and try to not make any of those same mistakes in the playoff stage."
The other remaining member of the ESWC 2005 championship roster (then known as coL), Tyler 'Storm' Wood discussed why he has fond memories of ESWC events:
"ESWC was always one of my most favorite events to attend in the past. They always had a great competitive feel to them when you were inside the venue, like it was made with the players in mind. I'm hoping it'll have that same type of atmosphere this year. Its also the only event that holds a competition for the females which is a nice change of pace when you're used to every event being a huge sausagefest for the most part."
