Under a week ago, GameFrontier, who are the organisers for the United Kingdoms Electronic Sports World Cup qualifier, announced information regarding that qualifier. However, the Counter-Strike gamers suffered a major shock as the offline qualifier would not include a tournament for their game. This lead people to believe this years ESWC would not see a representing team from the UK, but that will now change as an online qualifier has been announced.

The gaming league theSGL.com, who are owned by GameFrontier, will take on the task of running the online qualifier. All the teams who enter will be put into a Single Elimination bracket, where they will battle it out in a best of three format. Matches are set to begin on this coming Monday at 20:00GMT and continue to run throughout the week.

When a winning team is determined, they will receive paid travel and accommodation to the ESWC grand finals. The finals will take place at Disneyland Paris in France and is set to start at the beginning of July.
