The organisers of this years Argentinian ESWC qualifier have decided to cancel the event. The Electronic Sports World Cup is now only weeks away and the thirty team list for the Counter Strike tournament is nearly complete. Since the announcement of ESWC 2010, many national qualifiers have taken place, but there are still two qualifiers to be played, those being Argentina's and Portugal's.
However, the gamers of Argentina have suffered a major blow to their scene as LocalStrike, their ESWC qualifier organisers have decided to cancel the event. This of course means there will now only be one representative from the South America at the Grand Finals later this month.
Statement from LocalStrike:
Staff at ESWC have yet to make a decision as to what will happen with the newly available place. Most likely another team will be drafted in to fill in the blanks, but with such short notice the tournament maybe one team short.

Statement from LocalStrike:
"After making our biggest effort to organise an ESWC qualifier, we ought to tell you we have been forced to suspend for 2010 the Argentine qualifier.
The lack of confirmation from most companies interested in participating in this event has made us decide for the suspension.
The reason we see for this lack of sudden support is due to the costs behind organising this kind of events, and because this is an European event, the costs are in Euros, and the convertion makes it very hard to bear such costs.
At the same time, a tournament of this importance that coincides with the World Cup, as these companies are currently undergoing marketing strategies targeted at this event, makes it that they cannot confirm their presence for this kind of event on the same dates."
