Arena tournament moves into 2nd phase

Blizzard's 2010 arena tournament will step up a gear from tomorrow (May 26). The four-week practice period is coming to an end and the qualifying stage begins. The new stage will go live after tomorrow morning's server maintenance.

All points earned in the practice period will be reset, making the qualifying period a completely new and even playing field. In order to discourage team-hopping, players who change team during phase two will get their rating reduced by 150 points. This phase will last until June 9 when the third and final stage kicks in.

Phase three will lock teams in place, meaning that no players can jump teams at all. This will also be the stage when matches count towards qualification as well as the prize pet and titles. Teams that make the cut will qualify for the grand finals at Blizzcon later in the year.

You can find the US tournament realm rankings here and the European one here.
