Cypher defeated Cooller in the grand final to pick up first place at the ASUS Spring LAN.Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky defeated Anton 'Cooller' Singov 2-0 in the grand final of the ASUS Spring LAN to pick up ~€260. The Belarusian dropped only one map throughout the tournament - in the group stage to agent - on his way to victory.
Cypher's first encounter with Cooller came in the upper bracket semi-finals. The two favorites for the title clashed on ztn and dm6, but Cypher made his case for the top spot clear and trounced the Russian 22-4 and 16-5.
With Cooller in the lower bracket Cypher had his group stage conqueror, agent, standing in the way of a spot in the grand final. Cypher picked up the first map 8-7 and comfortably took home the second 21-14.
Cooller brushed past agent in the lower bracket final to set up a rematch with his friend and rival, Cypher.
But it was Cypher who kept up his form and, over two close maps, took the win and pocketed himself ~€260.
It's not all bad for Cooller and the plucky agent, though, as they along with two other Russians received ESWC Russia qualification spots.
Tournament standings:
1st - Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky - ~€260
2nd - Anton 'Cooller' Singov - ~€180 + ESWC Russia qualification spot
3rd - agent - ~€130 + ESWC Russia qualification spot
4th - evil - ~€80 + ESWC Russia qualification spot
5/6th - Amai, volgonike - Hardware (+ ESWC Russia qualification spot for volgonike)
7/8th - Zhibo 'Fan Zhibo' Fan, Balk - Hardware
