MYM.Artosis submits a new game analysis for Starcraft 2, sharing his thoughts on the latest changes from Patch 12, that, in his oppinion, have seriously altered the Zerg gameplay.Dan 'Artosis' Stemkoski is known as a very skilled Starcraft Brood War player, that dedicated himself to the community, getting involved in quite a number of events as both player and observer / commentator.
His career as a Starcraft gamer, was build based on his wide experience throughout the years. He was associated with TSL and is currently working with scForall.com by providing news, game comments, analysis and, of course, his weekly show.
When Starcraft 2 Beta started, Artosis turned towards it and he is now one of the most respected american players in the business.
After Patch 12 went live, in Artosis’s vision, the game changed. This being said, Artosis took the time to discuss how these nerfs affected the Zerg gameplay and explains why, in his oppinion, the Zerg race got over-nerfed.
One of the topics he debates on, is about the viable options the Zerg could chose from, unit wise, while playing against the Terran and Protoss, who aparently have way more combat units than the Zerg.
Besides that, Artosis asks himself a really interesting question. He wonders why are so many Zerg players on the top ranks of the Asian server, considering his concept that the current Zerg race is pretty much over-nerfed and has quite a difficult time playing against Terran and Protoss players of the same skill level.
Aparently, eventhough the Zerg has less units to chose from while actually building up a game, so to speak, it’s not an easy task playing it properly.
The Zerg domination on the Asian server, according to Artosis, can be explained by the fact that the Zerg players managed to adapt to what they have and while the Protoss and Terran players still experiment and test their options unit wise, the Zerg players already know what needs to be done to maximize the chances of winning.
Artosis also feels that patch 12, with the modifications brought to the Zerg race, started discouraging players, probably forcing some of them to switch race.

All that while still hinting out that any and all wc3 players are naturally inferior to any former Sc1 pro in his late 20s. While they have been kicking ass all throughout the beta. New game, new chance, mate.
How are we supposed to counter this? I mean it's just insane how fast they get lings
i make a supply depot at 9-10 and a rax right when it's done with the same scv, in case you wanted to know.
