SK Gaming are out of Arbalet Cup Europe

ImageReigning champions of Arbalet Cup Europe SK Gaming are out of the tournament after suffering two losses.

After losing a nail-biter versus WeMade FOX but demolishing UNiTED, SK Gaming had it all to do against Evil Geniuses to remain in the tournament.

Despite being branded the group of death many predicted SK to advance, and in first place, but Team EG had other things on their mind such as securing their own tournament future.

de_inferno was the playground for the encounter, a map that has plagued the SK team since Rasmus 'GuX' Ståhl's arrival. Only two wins have been achieved on the map - in the group stages of the IEM4 World Finals - with all other encounters bar one being a loss.

The recurrance of SK winning the opening pistol round returned, but once the EG players had suitable weaponry in their hands the game flipped. Danny 'fRoD' Montaner was making all the important picks with his AWP while Ediz 'goodfornothing' Basol and Jordan 'n0thing' Gilbert continually locked down bombsites to end the first half with a 9-6 lead.

The second half was much more one sided as SK failed to pick up a single round. More of the same from fRoD and the addition of Tomi 'lurppis' Kovanen to the party ended the chances of the Swedes defending their Arbalet Cup Europe crown.

The win wasn't enough for EG to advance however, as UNiTED's draw with Wemade FOX saw the North American-based team bumped down to third due to their head-to-head record.
