Patch 12 nerfs roaches, buffs thor

Blizzard has released another update for the SC2 beta. The 12th update to Starcraft II's beta has been released with just a handful of small but important tweaks. Each of the three races got a couple of changes, including the much talked-about alteration to the terran's thor. The huge mech unit will be less huge from now on, making it a lot more maneuverable and a more viable unit choice.
Protoss got a slight nerf to their fast expansion strategy via some changes to the forge. Reducing the building's HP and shields to 400/400 is not a huge deal. But increasing the build time from 35 to 45 seconds could prove fatal to the fast expansion on some maps. Protoss' mothership did get a bit of a buff, allowing it to remove force fields with its Vortex ability.
Like terran, Zerg only got one change but it is a very significant one. One of the most important units so far in the beta, the roach, has been nerfed in an interesting way. Its stats remain exactly the same, but it will now require two food instead of one, making it harder to mass.
Additionally, patch 12 should fix the bug that was making crashes happen when exiting the game. You can read all the patch notes, including those from previous patches here.

i'm sorry i posted in the forum and I don't see where else I could post this.
However, since protosses use a lot of force fielding these days in order to separate the mellee units from their ranged ones for an easier kill, we might see the mothership being used more often :)
Roach change has been coming for a long time. A unit with 150 hp shouldn't have been 1 supply to begin with. Lategame roaches could counter their counter by just massing.
Geez, idiots whining in a beta...
Do you think the purpose of the beta is for you to win with your chosen race? No, it's to balance the damn game. If Zerg really are underpowered from these changes what do you think they'll do? Sit back and say 'mwuahah those foolish Zerg players, nerfing them into the ground was great'? No they'll make changes.
All this crying is ludicrous. The bnet forums are a bloody disgrace with people acting just like you.
In some patch, one race may be better, yet in a newer patch, it might be weaker. That pretty much is the purpose of beta testing. You need to experiment in order to achieve balance. :)
you guys are totally blinded or what ?
all units has more advantages than just one - massing them
...
yeah who ever heard of massing as zerg? only noobs do that right! i guess we should all play protoss like you pros
The protoss gameplay is more focused on micro than zerg, that's for sure, yet the zerg needs to macro his army like mad, which is pretty difficult to do,i give you that, and in the mean time micro the support units.
Every race requires a lot of skill to be played properly. It all comes down to what type of skill the player has stronger.
A protoss is bad if it can't micro, a zerg is bad if it can't macro. About the terran, i don't know. Probably a mixture of the two.
