mTw finally get into gear after a disappointing opening to the second EPS Nordic season, defeating SK Gaming 16-8.mTw had a nightmare opening to the second EPS Nordic season, but two solid wins against fnatic and SK Gaming in one night sees them back in contention for some prize money.
SK Gaming, in contrast, sat atop the league with three wins from three before their fixture with the Danes, who delivered the first loss of the season to the leaders.
Statistically speaking, de_tuscan is SK Gaming's worst map and mTw's best. But that didn't stop SK opening up a quick 3-0 lead courtesy of the pistol round victory, and had all the reason to play the game their way in the first gun round.
mTw, who had other things in mind with guns in their hands, hit back instantaneously and took six straight, with the only reply from SK coming in the shape of a well executed eco round. The Danish team refused to be undone by the slip up, though, quickly putting things back together and storming ahead to an 11-4 half time lead.
The second half opened up with SK taking their second pistol round and the following two, narrowing the gap to 11-7, but as soon as mTw had money for the first gun round the Danes quickly set to work again. Jimmy 'allen' Allen was playing at his best to help get SK back in the game - picking up four kills before falling short in the 1 vs. 1 - but mTw's attack strategies were overwhelming an SK side crippled by a lack of cash.
The game finished 16-8 to an mTw team who have found a surge of form at just the right time: one more loss this early in the season would've effectively seen them out of the running for making the playoffs.
Christoffer 'Sunde' Sunde told SK-gaming.com his thoughts on the game and the much-needed win.
While SK suffered their first defeat of the season they still remain at the top of the table, leading fnatic who have a game in hand by three points.

"We just took home a much needed 3 points against fnatic, and after our bad start in ESL we knew we had to step up our game and I think we did that tonight. Tuscan is normally a T dominated map, but we got some really good pracc results as CT today, so I knew we could pull off a great CT side. With two lost gunrounds I can only say that I'm really pleased with today's result :)"
