Heading into the CEVO playoffs the two American teams Evil Geniuses and compLexity Gaming were heavily favored to win the championship. They would end up meeting each other in the second round of the upper bracket where compLexity Gaming took the victory which surprised a lot of people. From there, both teams advanced to the grand finals through the upper and lower brackets to meet in the best of three grand final.

It would only take two maps as the new compLexity roster easily shutdown EG to win. The first map, de_inferno, would start out with a 15-0 margin for compLexity to start the first half. From there, EG managed to regain a few rounds, but it wouldn’t be enough as compLexity won with a final score of 16-5.

The second map, de_nuke, wouldn’t be any different with compLexity allowing EG only three rounds in the first half. After the half time break, compLexity would win the pistol round and the next three rounds to take the victory 16-3.
