Ten minutes ago the last match of TeamLiquid.net's Stacraft 2 Invitational ended, after a series of exceptional skill displays. After several hours of epic matches, the TeamLiquid.net Starcraft 2 Invitational has ended.
This event brought together some of the best players in the current European rankings, resulting in pretty interesting and surprising moments.
The winner of the competition was Oleksii 'White-Ra' Krupnyk (Protoss) and the two runner ups were TheLittleOne (Random) and Victor 'Nazgul' Goossens (Protoss).
In the finals, White-Ra had to face TheLittleOne, winning the best of five series of matchups with a 3-1 score. Once again, probably the oldest player in the Starcraft Universe, White-Ra showed a lot of consistency throughout the brackets of this event, only losing one game, and once again proving why he is the best european protoss player of the moment.
Even though he lost in the finals, TheLittleOne showed an amazing skill and imagination throughout the whole competition, overcoming well known names in the scene. He is by far the big surprise of the event, one of the rising stars in proffesional Starcraft 2 and a player to be feared in future competitions.
Nazgul also showed impressive skill and provided the fans with some excellent matches to learn from. Even though he lost against TheLittleOne in the semi-finals the matches he played in were simply breathtaking.
With another competition finally over one thing stands for sure: Blizzard has of now managed to unite real time strategy fans under one flag, Starcraft 2.
