The Fnatic Counter-Strike 1.6 team will take on the Counter-Strike: Source team of Reason Gaming on CSPromod this Sunday at 20:00 CET.Originally proposed by Cadred.org, the hypothetical match has become a reality.
The Fnatic Counter-Strike 1.6 team will take on the dominant Reason Gaming Counter-Strike: Source team on CSPromod this Sunday, 21 March.
QuadV, with Stuart 'TosspoT' Saw, will be streaming the match starting 20:00 CET.
The Fnatic team captain, Patrik 'cArn' Sättermon, is "really looking forward to be a part of the first streamed CSP match," he said to Cadred.org.
Reason Gaming team captain Marek '.PhP' Kádek shares the same feelings:
CSPromod main man Alex Garfield also gave his thoughts on the match-up:
The CSPromod 1.04 beta received varying levels of criticism from players of both communities, with many stating that models and movement were key issues. Will this be beneficial for the Reason Gaming players heading into the match? Or will the 1.6 recoil favor the Fnatic team despite the visual deficit?
Although nothing rides on the game, it will prove vital for the developers and the impending 1.05 release as well as give fans the opportunity to see the best of both titles duke it out.

"It's going to be a battle between two giants from two different games. At this stage we don't know if CSP going to be the title which unites 1.6 and Source but this match will hopefully put the spotlight on CSPromod which has been evolving loads of late. Make sure you tune in on QuadV and may the best team win!"
Reason Gaming team captain Marek '.PhP' Kádek shares the same feelings:
"We are looking forward to play mighty fnatic in game which probably favours them little bit by having 1.6 recoil and maps, but I hope we can give them a fight and keep the game exciting."
CSPromod main man Alex Garfield also gave his thoughts on the match-up:
"We're very excited that such high-profile teams, media, and broadcasters have come together to make this match happen. The 1.6/Source debate has been one of the Counter-Strike community's most intense dialogues over the past several years, and thus we expect this match-up to draw passionate interest from players in both camps. Furthermore, we hope that the execution of a successful exhibition match between two of the world's best Counter-Strike teams illustrates to the community how close CSPromod really is to being competitively a viable game."

I do agree that it still doesn't feel quite like 1.6 yet due to the movement and the recoil not being perfected. However, I fail to see how this will favor source players as the nades' physics, guns recoil, maps, wallbangs, quickscoping awp and such are a lot closer to 1.6 than CSS.
1.6ers get the advantage because of the maps. If you go around maps in Source (and then go through the csp/1.6 maps) you will see that this is going in fnatics advantage.
The game is imo more like source, they're both pretty even, if someone is in favour, it's RG.
gl
If so, Fnatic in 3 maps, otherwise, Fnatic will win the map
reason gaming has the knowledge of source , fnatic no
but fnatic has the teamplay in the maps nothing more
but i guess fnatics skill will give them a very hard time
CSPromod’s official maps feature near-identical layout recreations of their original CS 1.6 counterparts, with enhanced graphics that do not affect gameplay or FPS in a negative way. ... and feels like source? in which way? because physics of nades are the same like in cs16... so what the hell are you talking about?
fnatic will destroy them just because of the wallbangs.
Would be nice if you read at least 4 lines down!
