ImageThe Swedish undead player Dowaq has retired from competitive WC3 according to the Serious Gaming website.

Players from Serious Gaming paid tribute today to their former team-mate as Hjalmar 'DowaQ' Högberg announced his retirement. The official line is that after a successful career the Swede will now focus on other areas of his life. Serious Gaming's official post even has a brief resumé of that career:

"The next year he travelled to the ESWC Masters in kr Cheonan, Korea and would be eliminated in the group stages. This ended up being his last major international LAN tournament despite winning the se Swedish WCG 2009 qualifier; which unfortunately did not end up with DowaQ travelling to WCG China."

But despite that low, his team-mates had high praise for the undead player. "He was a great undead player and will remain a great team mate," said Sonkie. Rotterdam echoed those sentiments, saying that "DowaQ has been a great teammate and a great friend for a long time of me."
