StarCraft II Beta Files Extracted

ImageStarCraft: Legacy has taken the liberty to extract and release some hidden game files from the upcoming RTS that features artwork, in-game images and game strings.

In the long history of beta phases for Blizzard Entertainment releases, bonus material has been discovered in the downloadable beta package. This includes a whole host of extracted images and in-game dialogue from the unreleased tutorial level.

The images include current in-game loading screen artwork of ten planets to match the game settings. This, along with the race specific mini icons located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen and the fully-colored upgrade icons. Yet-to-be implemented decals to be displayed on players' buildings and units are included, as well. However, they are exlusively terran images, thus indicating the incompleteness of the beta phase. Along with stills from in-game portraits and textures, a collection of wireframes is included, as well. Two Easter eggs fans of the original game may enjoy are renders of the corsair and dragoon; units not included in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.

StarCraft: Legacy discovered some dialogue from the protoss, terran and zerg tutorials, with variation of each race's racial counterparts. As expected, the dialogue from the tutorial is extremely simple in nature and more similar in simplicity to the Warcraft III tutorial than the original game's. Along with the tutorial dialogue is a collection of doodads and entities.
