ImageThere was even more eSport-action besides the IEM World Championship at CeBIT 2010. Danny Engels met Formula Racer Alexander Rossi and took home a $1.250 CPU.

While Shane 'rapha' Hendrixson became crowned as World Champion of Quake Live, Danny 'HuskY' Engels showed his racing skills in Intel's iRacing Competition. Everybody visiting the iRacing stand were allowed to compete in this competition and had the chance to win a brand-new Core i7 Extreme Edition. The only thing you had to do: Be the fastest!

Danny 'HuskY' Engels did not pass up a golden opportunity and proved once again, with the fastest laptime on Saturday, that he is still one of the best virtual racers in the world. Winning the Intel iRacing Competition at CeBIT was even his first achievement in iRacing.

Furthermore, US real life racer Alexander Rossi had a special guest appearance on Saturday and was impressed by the game itself and the competitive environment. Even though there is still a major difference between the simulation and real racing, it is great to see how video games are developing Rossi said and added that the tracks in particular are really close to real.Image

Danny 'HuskY' Engels:
"It was really cool to compete in a hardcore simulation game again and I think that iRacing could be my future after Need for Speed: Shift. Time will tell! First of all I have to say that I am happy to continue winning even in another racing game, but furthermore I really enjoyed to meet Alexander Rossi. He is the most sympatic racing driver I've met so far and it is always cool to have a smalltalk between one of the best virtual and real life racers. I hope we will see him racing in Formula One some day! Now it is time for me to concentrate on EA MASTERS and ESWC."
