Team-EG came out of nowhere this week to win the IEM global finals in hugely impressive style, 4-1.Coming into IEM's global finals this, pretty much everything went wrong for Evil Geniuses . Nobody expected them to do well, they had to change lineup, their games were hugely delayed and they barely made it out of the group after a three-way tie. Not to mention a practice schedule of basically no time at all and you could probably name more problems.
But the team showed great tenacity and - dare I say in a WoW article - resilience to pick themselves up time and time again. They overcame a great deal of adversity - not to mention some fantastic opponents - to win one of the most hotly contested WoW tournaments of all time.
By the time of the final they seemed to have really reached the peak of the mountain they had to climb. They only rarely looked trouble by Team Dignitas in the final and it almost felt as if the one map won by the RMP was a blip. Tenderlion's shocks were superb and meant that Flyn was barely able to contribute anything to the game. Keeping the right balance between damage and control is difficult at the best of times, but with such well timed interrupts it became infinitely harder.
Many people have already pointed to the fact that Dignitas have very little chance to practice against RLS teams - something that is also true of EG's semi-final opponents, Button Bashers . But the fact is that EG played some superb WoW today and deserved their victory. They surprised the whole WoW community with this result and might just have put rogue/'lock/shaman back on the map.
For Dignitas it's another in a long line of "almosts." Their performances in this tournament mirrored EG's in many ways; narrowly escaping the group stage, squeaking through the quarter-finals and then destroying their semi-final opponents. But when it really counted, in the final, they fell short again. Getting so close to winning a major tournament once more must leave a bittersweet taste in the mouths of the British team.

Way to go EG!
Woundman. Keep up your usage of methamphetamine. It provides results. We all see it now :D
and EG got past their group phase by own merit, they've been training a lot this last year and intensively this last weeks. This time they've placed 1st in the group maybe because of the lag issue from that DDoS attack, which gave EG a 1v3 clutch from lurppis and therefore +2 eco rounds. But who knows.
Don't even try to compare WoW with any other game in terms of randomness, it's merely impossible.
I really felt that training the lock and controlling the rogue would be more effective. This way Hydra could have played offensively and dispel all the dots, cause there would have been only a few UAs...
...do I miss something?...
why the hell do you guys need four wow teams, plz put your money in real esports games and not wow
also azael claimed his title of worlds best warlock back ...inflamez should leave the scene once and for all he is in no way comparable to azael :P
I know SK as a mature and strong organisation and your posts should only belong on wow forums under an alias. I don't know how you are still in SK but when i hear the motivation being so weak in your team you have no right to put down others. Azael did amazing at the tournament and even if he isnt a better warlock then you he is definitely a better player.
Deserved win there, and truly great games against two of the best RMPs in the world (EG, BB). I bet we'll see so many RLS setups in the tournament realms and with upgraded gear it'll be insane.
