The second relegation match between fnatic and WeMade FOX has concluded. In a pregame interview Kun-chul 'solo' Kang told SK Gaming that he was one hundred percent confident they would beat fnatic in the three game series. Things did not go his way however, as WeMade Fox dropped the series 2-0 and could not overcome fnatic’s strong tactics and defense.

Fnatic has now moved on to the semi-finals where they will face off against their Swedish rivals SK Gaming .

fnatic 16:13 WeMade FOX (inferno – 10:5 6:8)
fnatic 16:12 WeMade FOX (train – 9:6 7:6)

First Map

The early part of the match was dominated by fnatic as they were strategically moving into both bombs sites and confusing WeMade Fox in the process. Forcing them to save on the counter-terrorist side for many of the early rounds fnatic went up 8-3.

In the thirteenth round fnatic got two quick kills down banana and they rushed into the side and planted the bomb. With five members set up around the site WMF had a tough task over taking them over with only three members, but nicely placed flashes and strong teamwork allowed them to retake the site and defuse the bomb before it exploded, 8-5.

The last two rounds would be the same scenario as fnatic would get opening picks at banana and take the site, but these two times they were able to hold it and went up 10-5 at half.

The second half of the map we saw a strong offensive attack by WeMade Fox as they started the half with six round wins in a row to take their first lead of the game 11-10.

In the twenty-fourth round MWF got the bomb planted at the B site, and had three members defending it. The lone attacker Björn 'threat' Pers moved in by himself and took down all three members, defused the bomb, and won the round for his team which changed the momentum of the game, 13-11 fnatic.

From their fnatic didn’t look back and started to figure out what WMF were doing with their attacks, they went on to win the first match 16-13.

Second Map

Usually considered a heavily defensive sided map, WeMade Fox never found their groove on the counter-terrorist side of train to start the match. After WMF won the pistol round, fnatic bought because they got the bomb plant. This allowed fnatic to take the second round and tie the score 1-1.

From there both teams were trying their best to get the advantage but they continued to trade rounds until fnatic got a small edge 9-6 at halftime.

To start the second half, the exact same incident happened to fnatic, as it did to WMF in the first part of the game. Team fnatic won the pistol round, but WeMade Fox force bought in the second round and won it, 10-7 fnatic lead.

From there fnatic had extremely strong defensive play, which WMF could not overcome. They tried several different tactics on the inside and outside bomb sites but neither seemed to work. The co-ordination of fnatic was extremely good, and it showed in the final result with a 16-12 win.
