Zechs and Kollektiv predict the semi-finals

ImageThe WoW semi-finals started while i was writing this intro but who will win? Zechs brings in some expert knowledge in the shape of SK US player, Kollektiv, to answer that question.

Crunch time, ground zero… whatever cliché you want to use, it’s appropriate for the World of Warcraft tournament right now. We’re heading into the semi-finals in just a few minutes with four of the world’s best teams about to go head-to-head.

With me is SK US’s very own Tim 'Kollektiv' Yen who is going to help me predict the two exciting matches that we’re waiting for. First up is the shaman’s fellow clanmates, SK Gaming ASIA who will be facing the British powerhouse of Team Dignitas .

Dignitas vs SK Asia

Hydra and co narrowly scraped through the group stage with a 3-2 record. Yesterday they had an equally tough time against in the quarter-final. If it wasn’t for a mistake by SK’s warrior, the 4-3 win could have easily been a loss instead. But as it is, they made it to the semis and will now face a team they already 3-0’d in group stage.

SK Asia has looked pretty strong at their first two events under the new tag but they will surely have their work cut out for them in this game. Not only is Dignitas a superb team running the traditionally strong RMP setup, but that 3-0 game must play a part in the psychological make up of the game.

On top of that, in an interview yesterday, Dignitas claimed that their close game against SK will actually be a good thing. Having such an tense game under their belt will give them a huge confidence boost in a game that is all about mind games. Sadly, I can’t see SK faring much better than yesterday and it might even be 4-0 if they don’t play amazingly.

Zechs Predicts: Dignitas 4-1 SK Asia

Dignitas will win. They 3-0’d SK in the group stage and they will probably do it again. History repeats itself. They have a good chance at winning in the final too. If they play EG I think they will win but if they play BB it can go either way. If they decide to kill the shaman from EG it should be easy for them.

Kollektiv Predicts: Dignitas 4-1 SK Asia

Button Bashers vs Team-EG

Button Bashers is a team that you can never write off until they’re officially beaten. In this tournament they haven’t needed to test their luck too much yet after going 5-0 in the group stage. Although they have had some close games, and their previous matches against EG were also close, they still find a way to pull through.

RLS games in the past have shown that shamans are a very susceptible “train” target. It isn’t really BB’s style to play like that but having such a simple and workable backup plan is just another weapon in their arsenal. EG have exceeded all expectations by getting this far but I think this is where their run ends.

Zechs Predicts: BB 4-2 EG

EG played them twice and went 2-3 both times. So, EG could win but I think it’s a little bit in BB’s favour. It’s going to be close – it’s always been close. BB doesn’t do “shaman train” and like to change it up every game, but that could actually make it harder for them when the shaman is such a good target. EG need RNG to be in their favour when it comes to dispels.

Kollektiv Predicts: 4-3 Evil Geniuses
