SK Sansibar started their IEM finals campaign with a win but further delays have been caused by the lag issues in the WoW area. The second day of IEM looked to be getting off to a good start with the first WoW matches going ahead as planned and the CS stage game also going well. But after just two games, lag issues have struck again. Whether or not this is a repeat of yesterday's problem is unclear right now but Button Bashers had at least 2500ms while SK Gaming EUROPE were also having some problems.
But SK's difficulties go further than just technical ones. Their opening game against SK Gaming SANSIBAR ended with a 3-0 win for the European Champions. Sansibar seem to be a bogey team for Inflame and co but the normally fiery SK EU team seemed to take the defeat quite calmly. Knowing that their comp has a hard time against the TSG setup, they had possibly expected defeat in the first place. They will look to start again when the server is fixed when they will take on iNNERFiRE .
For Sansibar it seems like they are picking up where they left off at the European finals. A 3-0 win, favourable comp or otherwise, is always a nice way to start a tournament. Their confidence seems to be sky high at the moment and you will struggle to see Kai 'Noonia' Gade without a smile on his face. Their next game might be one of those rare opportunities, however. They will face the American champions compLexity Black when pings are back to normal. This is one of the most unpredictable games of the group stage with two of the world's best physical damage teams going at each other's throats.
