With their most recent loss to Evil Geniuses, moving on after the group stage doesn’t look probable for the Polish squad. The morning started with some early delays, but the problems have since been cleared up as matches continue to be played into the evening. The Group A standings continue to change as more and more matches have been played but Mousesports currently sit atop the standings with a perfect record.
The next matchup would be Evil Geniuses against Frag eXecutors in an important game for both teams. If Evil Geniuses won, it would secure them a spot in the top three of the group. But, if Frag Executors won, it would keep their hopes alive of advancing from the group stage. Frag Executors started the match off pretty strong, but started to let up on the counter-terrorist side of de_train. Evil Geniuses who have impressed many people so far in this tournament played well on the terrorist side, and played even better when they switched sides at half and eventually won the match.
Evil Geniuses 18:12 Frag eXecutors (train – 6:9 12:3)
First Half
To start the game off FX easily took the knife and decided it would be best to pick the counter-terrorist side. They continued to use that momentum throughout the first four rounds as Filip 'NEO' Kubski got eleven kills and they went up quickly 4-0.
Evil Geniuses weren’t going to give up that easy and they continued to push back using simple full rushes to get entry into the bomb sites. This tactic worked very well as FX weren’t able to hold them back which allowed them to plant the bomb quickly and then hold it. EG would get the next three rounds, 4-3.
After the first seven rounds, the teams would continue to trade kills and rounds. Both teams not wanting to budge the half ended in Frag Executors favor, 9-6.
Second Half
Frag Executors decided it would be best to send all five members ivy for the opening pistol round, but their decision ended up being a bad one as Jordan 'n0thing' Gilbert would be waiting around the corner and got three USP headshot kills, then his teammates came to clean up the rest.
From that very strong start, EG did not look back on this map as they continued to hold round after round. FX was not able to penetrate their extremely strong defense which saw Danny 'fRoD' Montaner play well with his AWP. Evil Geniuses would win the match, and move into second place in the group standings.
