Fnatic Breaks Into HoN

ImageThe European-based powerhouse of Fnatic has now officially broken into the Heroes of Newerth realm; something not done much thus far.

Recently, it was announced that Kevin 'RotterdaM' van der Kooi would be returning to Fnatic, highlighting his achievements as their former Warcraft III player altogether. However, there was also speculation that RotterdaM's project would involve Heroes of Newerth, considering his recent ventures into that genre. Now, Fnatic has officially announced the latest addition to the Fnatic academy- the Fnatic.HoN team.

Fnatic most recently was tied into the DotA scene, where they had an incomplete team that featured three popular players. The team was released on January 8th and after that, the organization reportedly had a brief interest in recruiting the powerhouse team of Blight.Int. Now it seems as though the organization has shown utmost confidence in the fledgling HoN scene, where they will expectedly make their debut at iSeries then play at Dreamhack this year.

Antti 'Rexi' Saarenpää
Aku 'ducktR' Hyttinen
Kalle 'Trixi' Juhanpoika Saarinen
Lari 'Steelrasp' Sihvo

In a statement from Fnatic General Manager Elroy 'Noname' Pinto:
"A week back we announced RotterdaM's arrival back at FnaticMSI, this time we're back in the news as we are pleased to support a newish game going by the name of Heroes of Newerth. We have decided to get into the game at a phase when perhaps many people might think it's too early. We have thus decided that in 2010 we shall look at giving a chance to a new title which seems to have a decent start so far with iSeries and DreamHack announcing tournaments when the game is still in closed beta phase. It seems promising and once in a while everyone has to take the 'leap of faith'. Here's ours! Welcome guys!"

In a statement from Antti 'Rexi' Saarenpää:
"I have to say that joining FnaticMSI was a total surprise for our whole team (not for RotterdaM obviously) but now that we're here it feels awesome! I'm looking forward to see how this works out since I haven't ever been a part of something this big within esports. I'm really happy with the roster at the moment, all of the players are talented and fun to play with, management also seems really awesome and they are packed up with a super sense of humour.

It's too bad that the European HoN scene is quite tiny at the moment, yet I think that with FnaticMSI taking the initiative, other organisations will follow. Even though the scene is small at the moment we are training hard to climb our way up to the top.

There are many great teams in the scene at the moment, but they are just normal obstacles for us. I really hope everything works out well and in the end we will hopefully get to play a lot of competitive HoN!"
