After coming up short last year WeMade FOX have gone one better this time around and are the champions of the IEM IV Asian finals. They faced surprise finalists Ultimax Gaming who had blown through a semi-final which saw them playing at their peak for the entire event. In the final though the South Koreans made short work of them and really looked polished in every area.

Crucially for WeMade this means they will be placed into Group B of the IEM IV Global Finals in March, thus avoiding the likes of fnatic, mTw.int and Mouz. Two years ago, back with the eSTRO name and two different players, this South Korean side was able to make it all the way to the final via the upper bracket before they fell to Mouz.

For UMX the tournament was a real cinderella story as they made it out of Group A by two rounds in an all out war with Duskbin. From there many assumed they would be fed to immunity in their semi-final but it was the Taiwanese team who did the feasting on easy prey as they cruised past the Australians with huge CT play and much improved aim. In the finals the clock struck midnight and the carraige turned back into a pumpkin as UMX found themselves outclassed and outplayed in every key area by the South Koreans of WeMade.

Now UMX will head to the Global Finals knowing they will have an absolute mountain to climb to get out of Group A, but also knowing that this will be a chance to gain valuable experience against some of the world's elite teams.
