Good day for undead, mixed weekend for Reign

ImageThree of the four Stars War qualifiers have finished, all with undead finalists, and two with undead winners.

It was a mixed weekend for Tobias 'ReiGn' Muth who appeared in two finals but managed to lose both of them. Today's opponent was the Swedish undead, Hjalmar 'DowaQ' Högberg in the Stars War qualifier. Reign surprisingly didn't pick orc for any of the matches and paid the price in the end. Dowaq out-crept and out-leveled his opponent in both games and told GosuGamers that it was "just a matter of taking the right fights during tier 3."

After yesterday's losing final against Du Seop 'WhO' Chang this loss must have been a tough one for Reign to take. But playing undead in both games of today's final shows that he surely can't have been too upset. The German is an accomplished orc player and could have easily used the racial advantage that would have given him.

Two other groups were also played today, both of which saw undead finalists. Newly team-less Dmitriy 'Happy' Kostin was successful in his match against Marcus 'Thorzain' Eklöf where he managed a 2-0 win. The human from Sweden had a tough time countering Happy's style. Thorzain went rifle/caster in both games but was unable to really trouble the Russian, although game two did take around 25 minutes.

Dennis 'HasuObs' Schneider also reached the final of his group (C). But he fell short against Pedro 'LucifroN' Moreno Durán despite making one of the most entertaining games of the day. A close spawn on Turtle Rock seemed to be going in Hasu's favour at various times throughout the game. But the Spaniard's hero focus was just too strong and practically won him the game single handed.

Group B, featuring Mykhaylo 'HoT' Novopashyn, Daniel 'ixi' Spenst, Daniel 'LiiLD.C' Claesson and Silviu 'Nightend' Lazar is still due to be played over the next week or so.
