Team Dignitas have gathered the opinions from some of Counter-Strike 1.6's elite players on the recently released CS Promod 1.04 beta.In the first of a two part feature from Team Dignitas they have collected the thoughts from professional Counter-Strike 1.6 players on the CS Promod 1.04 beta. The second part will be centred around Counter-Strike: Source players and their opinions.
The bid to unite both communities through 1.6 gameplay and CS:S graphics has had mixed reactions from those asked, with player models being a key point to work on. Many do believe it has potential once out of its beta stages but may fare better for CS:S players.
Fatih 'gob b' Dayik feels it won't topple 1.6:
Mathieu 'R!Go' Bridet appears to love it:
Joona 'natu' Leppänen grasps the potential but would like things ironed out:
Thomas 'Vertigo' Andresen is hoping for the models and movement to be adjusted:
What are your thoughts on the release? How do they compare with the pros' views?

The bid to unite both communities through 1.6 gameplay and CS:S graphics has had mixed reactions from those asked, with player models being a key point to work on. Many do believe it has potential once out of its beta stages but may fare better for CS:S players.
Fatih 'gob b' Dayik feels it won't topple 1.6:
"I didn't like it very much. The game feeling is more source than 1.6 even though I like many little details about the game. For example that you can see how much money your mates have. I don't think the game can overthrow 1.6 but maybe it will be an alternative to source but since I only play 1.6, I don't have much insight on that."
Mathieu 'R!Go' Bridet appears to love it:
"I just tested it two times but I love it specially because 1.6 is ugly and it's important to renew the game style even if it's a little more slow. The hitbox is so great apparently so let's play on it, gather 1.6 & CS:S community."
Joona 'natu' Leppänen grasps the potential but would like things ironed out:
"I think it has potential but will take some adjustement before it's ready. Things like the grenades feeling a little slow need adjusting. Also I think not including crouch-hop is a mistake, them claiming the tournament administrations don't want it seems quite odd considering this fight was fought in '06 and it fell in favor of allowing it. But overall it's a pretty good modification and it could have a future once the game has been polished."
Thomas 'Vertigo' Andresen is hoping for the models and movement to be adjusted:
"My first impression is that CSP is pretty much a CS:S based game but thing like models/movement and more are going to be changed (atleast that's what I've heard). So the game might be pretty good in the future!"

PROmod has potential, no doubts about it too... but i don't think 1.6 players like me will receive promod with arms wide open and a happy face at the end.
Maybe steam is trying to recover from the crash in the economy all over the world, preparing the launch of PROmod, with some kind of supporters behind the lights. GAMING is a huge community, maybe there's a way to surpase all this hard times... steam got it.
