Arbalet Ukraine emerged as the champions of the Arbalet Cup Asia tournament as they defeated forZe in the Grand Final. After a good first half Arbalet shut forZe out to storm to the title. Two weeks ago Natus Vincere (under the KerchNET tag) suffered heartbreak at the hands of Mouz at the IEM IV European Championship but today they taste victory at last by winning Arbalet Cup Asia. Due to reaching the Grand Final via the upper bracket they needed to win only one game where forZe needed to win twice.
One map was all it took when the two best teams of the group stage met to crown the Ukranians as champions. After a first half which forZe were in for most of it things suddenly spiraled out of control for the Russians and Arbalet.UA shut them out completely in the second half.
Natus Vincere 16:5 forZe (inferno - 10:5, 6:0)
First half
Arbalet started their drive to the title strong with a pistol round victory and shot out to a 4:0 lead. Some strong AWPing from Fox allowed forZe back into the game and soon enough it was tied up 4:4. That parity would disappear soon enough. Three Zeus kills and markeloff winning a 1v1 took the lead back for Arbalet.UA. Edward took down three the next round to begin to push it out and the only round forZe would take would be the 12th. Even that round took a lot as two kills from Fox's AWP were followed up by three from dosia's colt.
Arbalet.UA continued to grind out terrorist side wins, something that had proven difficult when it mattered in their Mouz game at IEM, and ended the half 10:5. Surely the Ukranians could smell the championship at this point and it certainly seemed like from the way they went into the second half.
Second half
Arbalet.UA wasted no time in playing it safe or trying to wait for forZe to gift them the title and instead took the game to the Russians on the pistol round with aggressive pushing as CT. Three kills from Zeus helped the Ukranians on their way to the pistol round and the enemy ecos followed as expected. forZe were entirely unable to get anything going offensively and found no rhythym at all. Upon reaching championship point Arbalet were not to be denied and two kills from Zeus and two from Edward clinched the title for them.
