Playing under the tag of WINTERINRUSSIA, Mihail 'Kas' Hayda managed to overcome Dong Hwan 'viOlet' Kim yesterday and claim Zotac #121. In doing so, he became only the 14th human winner according to GosuGamers. The Ukrainian was also the last human to win a cup back in #116.

Although the cup didn't have its usual array of top talent (there was no Remind this week, for example), Kas still faced a tough opponent in the final. In a hard-fought series of games, he managed to pip the Korean orc by three maps to two. The series was a typically back-and-forth affair with neither player seeming to take a distinct advantage until the very last map.

The other likely Korean candidates for winning went out surprisingly early in the tournament. Jin Wook 'Rohjinwook' Roh lost out to Thrall while Hyo Sub 'FoCuS' Eom was shockingly beaten 2-0 by the unheralded nightelf, Tuo_xie. With those players out of the running it looked like plain sailing for Violet after he defeated Tuo_xie. But the ever-improving Kas denied him with an impressive performance, particularly on the last map, Turtle Rock.
