Rumours about Dmitriy 'Happy' Kostin being removed from his team kicked up this week after he was taken off their WC3L page. Now the rumours have been confirmed via the Evil Geniuses website.

The undead player had a rough time in 2009 thanks to orc's dominance of the tournament scene. Despite that, the deeply independent player still managed a handful of decent performances. He placed top four at both ESWC Cheonan and the WCG finals.

But in recent months the Russian has fallen into obscurity and little has been heard from him. His departure from Evil Geniuses will come as little to surprise to most fans but the team has decided to soldier on with two players for the time being. That means that the current lineup consists of the two orc players.

EG will be competing in the playoffs for WC3L but are just one defeat away from exit after their loss against ieS Virtual Gaming recently. Tellingly, EG played that match with just the two orcs since Happy was removed from the lineup on the same day. The duo will now have to defeat Geh aB to get back on track.
