Tod returns... to retirement

ImageToD has announced his 2nd retirement from Warcraft III.

Yoan 'ToD' Merlo has been in and out of the scene over the past year but he announced a 2nd retirement today. In a statement on Fragster.de Mateusz 'hG' Pietrzak called the news "the end of a great era."

Hope for Tod fans was not completely extinguished, however. "I think we might get to see him in some time as an amateur," claimed hG. He expects to see his ex-teammate "enjoying some HoN and maybe SC2 games." Given the Frenchman's history of DoTA, a move into HoN doesn't seem too unlikely.

Tod originally retired early last year but was brought in as a commentator for GOMtv's invitational. With Kevin 'RotterdaM' van der Kooi he became one of the most popular casters the game has ever known. It seemed inevitable that he would make a comeback, and so it proved to be. But despite winning WCG France and playing a handful of 2v2 games for Millenium he never became fully active again.

The retirement is sad for his fans, but probably not all that surprising, given his lack of activity.
