Innerfire is the first European team to qualify for the global finals.iNNERFiRE has just become the first European team to qualify for Extreme Masters global finals. Ironically, they did it by claiming the lowest spot on the list - 5th place. The Eastern Europe based team defeated Rocknroll pigtails to push the Swedes out of the running and into 6th place.
RocknRoll had a good start to the tournament, winning two out of three of their group games. But Innerfire went the other way, starting poorly but working up to their best form when it mattered. Desis and co looked shaky in group play but will be hoping to gain some shape in the weeks leading up to global finals. Still, last year's European champions didn't look too disappointed with 5th and celebrated their playoff victory as if it was a championship win.
World of Warcraft has finished streaming for today but returns tomorrow with the final four teams. SK's two teams will face off against each other in the semi-final but it's the all-German lineup that is in the best form right now. Sansibar's overall map score is currently 9-1 and they are having the tournament of their lives so far. Meanwhile SK Gaming EUROPE only managed a +1 ratio on their route to bracket play.
Never the less, the knockout stages are a clean slate and any of the remaining teams is capable of winning. Team Dignitas will face x6tence in a typically unpredictable game for the other semi-final. All the remaining games will be streamed on ESL TV and you can check the results here on SK-Gaming.
