ImageThe legendary Russian Quake player Cooller talked about DreamHack Winter, IEM European Finals and more in his interview with ESReality.

The legendary Anton 'Cooller' Singov has been interviewed over at community website ESReality. The Russian, who is a demigod within the worlds of competitive Quake Live and Quake 3, addresses his loss to av3k at DreamHack as well as looks forward to his participation in the IEM European Championship Finals later this month.

Was toxic that good in Quake 4 or was Cooller not motivated enough to practice? What does the two time ESWC champion think of 10 minute timelimits for dueling? How does Cooller see Cypher's current level in Quake Live? The answers to all of these questions and more are to be found in the interview.

On the topic of his loss to av3k Cooller provides one of his typically quotable answers:

"Alltimes we try to find reasons. Let me say the luck was on his side this day."

Explaining his favourite tournament and worst disappointment Cooller says:

"Of course WCG 2002. I was very disappointed after my loss because it was my first international quake trip. But this tournament learned me a lot and I can say it made my career. ESWC is my favourite tournaments series. I respect the team of the company and they always sent prizes in time for me. It's an important factor for me as a player."

Cooller is one of the all time great Quake players, having won two ESWC dueling championships in Quake 3. After coming onto the world stage with a victory over ZeRo4 and eventual 4th place at WCG 2002 the young Russian quickly took over the dueling scene and dominated for a stretch of two years or so. In Quake 4 he was able to take the first major title at CPL Winter 2005 but his motivation to practice waned in comparison to his younger days and his form was no longer superlative. Still a dip in form for Cooller still left him towards the top of the pack in mere mortal terms.

The out of practice Cooller was still able to place 4th at ESWC 2006 and 2nd at ESWC 2007, as well as a host of top 4 placings at other tournaments. Now in QuakeLive Cooller appears fully motivated again and is back to practicing hard. This has been seen in his form as he has looked incredible in some of his victories and placed 4th at IEM IV Dubai and 3rd at DreamHack Winter.
