GuX officially leaves fnatic

ImageThe great GuX has parted ways with the fnatic team he took to seven finals and five titles in 2009.

fnatic 's website has officially announced that Rasmus 'GuX' Ståhl has left their team. No replacement has been announced yet, with the IEM European Championship Finals a week away.

The news post explains that:

"It was a tough decision, but after much deliberation the team collectively has decided to let him go. It's extremely important for the team to work together for the same goal, and are at all times tight friends outside the game, as well as in-game. Any conflicts cause strife and upsets the rhythm of the teams game. Gux and the rest of the team grew apart towards the latter half of the year, which lead us to our current situation."

fnatic's remaining lineup:
Patrik 'f0rest' Lindberg
Harley 'dsn' Örwall
Patrik 'cArn' Sättermon
Christopher 'GeT_RiGhT' Alesund

GuX joined fnatic from Blank in February of 2009, coming in as a relative unknown in comparison to his fame now due to having only had the opportunity to perform in domestic events. Despite GeT_RiGhT taking a lot of the spotlight, rightfully so, for raising the then new look fnatic team to another level GuX should receive a lot of praise for his own contributions. His play has seen him the most versatile member of his team as he could seemingly do whatever they needed to get wins, whether that be entry killing or backing up players mid round to get the bomb planted or taking down key 1v1 and 2v2 clutch situations.

In 2009 GuX helped fnatic to win the IEM Global Finals, ESWC Cheonan, Kode5, e-Stars Seoul and IEM IV Dubai. The team also took a silver medal at the WCG and finished runnersup at IEM IV Chengdu, to complete one of the best years of Counter-Strike ever seen. Despite missing their WEM victory in December it is worth noting that the last two teams fnatic beat to take that crown each was using a stand-in also, so one can never know how much GuX's play may have been needed against those sides at full strength.
