ImagePower Gaming have announced the addition of a Modern Warfare 2 side who are set to travel to the USA for a chance to win $10,000.

The British-based organisation already holds a multitude of teams and tonight via their splash page and Twitter account revealed their fourth console division.

Originally known as Validus the team recently defeated Team eMpathy in stunning fashion to secure a place in the European finals of the Gamebattles GameStop tournament. With both the European and International finals taking place on or before February 28th Power took the opportunity to pick up one of the few high-rolling Modern Warfare 2 teams without an organisation. Details regarding the location of the competitions conclusion within the USA have not yet been disclosed.

George 'n1Kz' Nicholls told SK Gaming:

"The team and I are very happy to be representing Power Gaming for MW2 and we hope we can achieve some great results along the way and do them proud. We are all well up for America and cannot wait to get some wins under the name. Thanks for all the support."

Power's new team bested 100 other ladder play participants by going undefeated through the single-elimination bracket. They will meet a heavily experienced TCM-Gaming side who will be looking to uphold their reputation as one of the game's best teams.

Infinity Ward's creative strategist Robert Bowling reportedly worked with competitive gaming league MLG to solve the offline issues which plagued the previous Call of Duty title yet, offline, Modern Warfare 2 lacks both a lobby and create-a-class system. The problems have forced tournament organisers to seek out venues with internet connections so players can access their custom classes and use lobbies to begin matches.
