End of 2009 blog and christmas blog together from the eyes of a manager!! Enjoy it:)
It this time of year when all families get together and spend christmas as a whole, for some people we can have it for all our lives and others who suffer the same pain year after year due to an event which led to a family not being a family as it used to. Myself i not spent christmas as a family for over 5 years now and every christmas it my weakest time of the year when i don't spend it together like most family do. For others which i know who recently experiencing the same moments and just remember you got people around you who be there for you no matter what;)
2009 been a major year for me from moving from my old self into a new person due to the hassle i had over a year ago in the gaming scene. Start of 2009 i tried to bring back an old clan called quality gaming which myself fallen for it many reasons why it folded due to the unwillness from the management. In which i was told in the end i had control of Quality Gaming and i decided to end it life then and then.
During the spring time i thought about making my own clan again but two days into it i was contacted by Nervous Gaming (Team YoYoTech) as one of their fifa guys recommended me to them. At first i wasn't sure if i wanted the role for NvG but i thought about this being as a fresh start for myself to have the honour to bring along a console side for NvG. First i brought in my old cod team from qG. After that i brought in a gow team which went onto winning a load of matches and got very very far. Fifa side was that but seeing hugejarse winning the I37 was a huge moment as i managed to hold onto him during my time in yoyotech when after we all left he joined to dignitas. Hawksey carried on like he always does, pimpz was was awesome and skams was a legend glad to see most of them in team dignitas as the group was so solid and strong.
Not forgotten about the CoD side of things. After i decided to let the team leave, i brought in two sides. RxG (the team that joined sk) and Well known Genetix Gaming. Both team went on to become a dominate force in their consoles.net tournament which both came top 3 aswell topping the console gaming leagues during that time.
During the summer came my first lan event. (UKeSA) I was so so nervous about this event as it was the first ever lan i attended. I had numerous amount of feelings but i walked through london as i stopped at the wrong station which meant i had to walk through to find the place. I asked over 5 people the way until i bumped into three super rich men. Having to be in a decent suit myself i asked them nicely and all three got their mobiles which was out of this world and showed me through their GPRS where the place luckly i got to the ex Xleague studios in time. Walking in was the hardest moment as i didn't have a clue who i was going to speak too. I met hawksey and hughjarse (both fifa) were both awesome people to know but still there was some many well known faces around at the time. In the morning i met Infused Ash and ben and that was really it.
When the guys left i thought i should go back but half way on the tube i decided to walk back in and make a good yyt impression. Then i saw the decerto group. TI Mellow (chris) introduced me to emotion, millo, ShinjuKu, Chillaz and camper. Only person i didn't met was phaz who was hiding all the time lol. This event was amazing as it brought a brand new scene into my mind. I left myself oldself and moved onto a new kind of management.
After i got back home that evening. I sat down and thought what was to be changed in my style of management. After a few days like i mentioned i brought in two new cod teams and a gow team which all three sides went on to their way to become a big name. Also i had the chance to work with smartiez and cazuall was are old time known people which both i enjoyed working with. Smartiez himself showed me a few of his skills which i relised big time as it changed me as a whole. Big shoutouts to Camper and Smartiez. During my time in yoyotech a few cracks became big enough for some of us. I knew it was all happening again like qG that night i sat down to Mark who currently and was currently in charge of the organistation after a few words it was for the best we part the teams from yoyotech. The disbanding of their console side was left to me. I decided to give the yes to part the sides of yoyotech as the teams didn't deserve to be kept beind in their progress. Promises were broken but at the end of the day i had a solid honest answer from mark as the other staff was out of order the way i was told this and that was going to happen.
I loved Team YoYoTech to bits and some nights when i sit in my bedroom i do wish i could return to Team YoYoTech one day as i know i could lead a console division into a top european side.
After the departing of me and the sides. I thought to myself why not go for a bigger challenge and aim for the giant organistations who not either have a solid console side or not got a console side at all. I approached many organistations and a week later i had two answers. One from Fnatic and SK Gaming, came to a total shock for me. I sat down with both organistations. Showed them what i could produce for them and showed what the console sides had to offer. Both organistations was really intrested of my offers and what really was hard on the one night that both organistations was going to give me a shot. I let my current Call of Duty side give the final answer on where they want to go. They knew as i knew i will do anything to give the futures they deserve. They decided to pick SK Gaming which came to shock to me as i wanted to join Fnatic.
That night SK decided to announce as their first ever English Call of Duty team which myself i knew i had a huge bumpy road ahead of me as i knew i could change the console side forever. During that time a few team changes happened. Our player necrome decided to say goodbye and went to join TCM. At the time we decided to recruit Mak who made a huge impact into the team brought that extra touch which made the team so strong on call of duty 4. They went on to produce the results we knew that was coming.
My second lan came along and the first for the team in SK. We attended EGL which was one amazing experience to see gaming from a different side. The friday morning Cazuall picked me up which was strange as i never met him before. Brilliant sound guy, one of the better people from portsmouth. He got alot of sense to life and knows the reality of it. On the way we went to pick up apache and pacino. Meeting both guys was strange, on the way we hardly said anything. When we reached the hotel. we dropped our bags went straight to the venue where egl was held. When we got there there was Rumsey, Loco, Jolly and Tobi (was shocked when i saw him, was expecting a huge guy who he sounds like on the 360) we helped out building the venue up and during the afternoon i met oli and so many more.
Then it was time to meet the team i had my trust in for months at the machester train station. First came along Mak > Godlike > Noiz and finally Bissell. Have to admit meeting bissell was harder than the others as i didn't know what to expect. we all had a drink then we head to the hotel we stayed in. That night the guys had their drinks while i was upstairs with noiz talking about SK and he had all the headsets and Tshirts which i handed out that night. Long story we came 4th but it was the best moment of my management to see my side knock out TCM and Sublime who was expected to reach to the finals. Losing to eGo was a harsh moment considering the games had to be cut down in time wise but still we went and showed we are a side who will keep on going.
A few months later Modern Warfare 2 appeared in the shops, which showed it was a record breaking game in the media market. The game brought in that fresh air what the cod community needed. All the big teams was expected to carry on their name but due to the age limit there was so many changed which have effected many teams which our team was in that line. In the first couple weeks we knew we have to make a change as our team was underage then one night out of the blue bissell decided to send the message which ended his time in SK. He decided to leave SK Gaming. Sent it out in a message out on the xbox. The team decided to pick up Wardy who made a huge impact at the past lans. With the team being old enough tobi have captain them into many great matches in the early days of MW2 then came a bad blip for the side. Two weeks into christmas a few events happened where wardy went abroad which we had an amazing upcoming player swanny. A few days ago a nasty moment appeared for my side which one have lost a really close relative. I cannot go into details for this as it personal but i hope he will pull through it and become stronger which i know he can.
Due to the recent events it have led us to being knocked out of the massive Gamestop event. Which was such a dent but we will pull this together from a whole and repair the lost in future events which i know my guys can win these events. 2010 is going to be a hard road ahead but with the team being so close together i know we can win lan events and online events and if the Munich lan get confirmed we hoping to win that lan event on SK soil and having the Office in Germany we hoping to train there to our most and really experience what SK is all about.
I have to admit i seen SK in a different way to what you lot would see it as. It might seem alot in the staff but at the end of the day the scale and future of sk depends on us all to produce the organistation we aim for. I am so excited about the future that is laying ahead!
