ImageProbably the most recognizable Russian CS player of all times - Alexey "LeX" Kolesnikov, former and everlasting captain of Virtus.Pro stated that he retires from professional gaming.

Aleksey Kolesnikov or "Aleksey K." as can be seen in many movies and POV demos joined the likes of the newly formed Virtus.Pro in the year of 2003 and immediately had become the heart of the team.

Together with his team, he won numerous ASUS Cups and other domestic tourneys in Russia (including WCG preliminaries), bronze at ESWC 2004, gold at ACON5 2005, fourth place at WCG 2005 Singapore and many more.

LeX is/was/has:

- Best Russian player of all times, voted officially and unofficially.
- The hero of an extremely well done movie The Slavonian.
- One of the best in the world AWP users of all times.
- Voted world's best seasonal player in Summer 2005 by gotfrag.com
- An incredibly charismatic and leader-oriented player and captain.
- Always been loyal to his team Virtus.Pro throught all those six years.

Today, LeX has announced that he retires from progaming. Nevertheless, we will see the best of him once again, but not as a player. Aleksey Kolesnikov will now be the organizer of upcoming Arbalet Cups throught the CIS and Europe.

"I guess it's not a secret that all those hard tourneys and the tight schedule has been a problem for me couple of last months.

Our ambitions, wishes and goals together with great faith, hard work and constant analysis is the power that can break any wall, except for health problems. I cannot continue my gaming career actively. I need time and rest to recover my health and get back to normal life pace.

I thank you all for your active support and all the faith which has been alive in you for all these years. Not all things were done up to maximum, but we have things to be proud of and we have a great history behind our back.

I'm not saying "farewell". I will be the organizer of upcoming Arbalet Cups and I thank Mister Arbalet for faith in me and for granted opporunity to continue working on what I like the most.

Happy holidays, everyone! See you!"
