Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen may have been through a hard few months in terms of results but all that has changed, for now, thanks to a huge victory at the World e-Sports Masters in Hangzhou, China. The Dutchman faced his famous rival Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang in the final and after a three map battle emerged the champion of the event.

On his way to the crown Grubby faced some adversity as he lost to WCG champion Infi, then WeMade Fox's SocceR before moving on to face the Chinese Undead player TeD in the semi-finals. After emerging from that 2:1 series Grubby was able to defeat SocceR's team-mate, and the IEM IV Chengdu runnerup, in the final and grab himself a much needed title to close out 2009.

Moon's path to the final saw him lose to SK's Lyn at first, only to gain his revenge later. Moon also fell to TeD during the group stage but when facing his team-mate SocceR in the semis the Korean won 2:0 to reach the final.

WEM WC3 placings:
1st Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen $14,000
