Chance takes third place

ImageThe match for third place would be Chance's shot at getting revenge for the game during group stage. And revenge he would get, as he won 3-0 without much problem.

Going into the third place match, Sander 'Vo0' Kaasjager had a horrible day behind him, losing badly to Tim 'DaHanG' Fogarty. However, he had beat Chance 'Chance' Lacina during the group stage and now having to face him again all he had to do was to play like he did during the group stage to have a shot at winning. Chance on the other hand had played great in his semi-final, almost beating Shane 'rapha' Hendrixson but not playing as great during the group stage. If he could play as he did against Rapha the win was sure to be his.

Going into T7 the question about shape wasn't answered. Everyone, including Vo0 knew that he would lose the map and Vo0 played as if he had already lost. Tourney7, 17-3 in the favor of Chance. DM13 would be different, being Vo0's map but with Chance having played brilliantly on it against Rapha it was anyones game. Chance had control during the start and got two frags but Vo0 was able to come back, tie the game and push it into overtime with map control. However he was never able to create a good attack and in the fourth overtime Chance stole mega and got a frag. Ending the map 3-2 for Chance.

Tourney9, was far from as interesting as DM13. Chance was able to get control and playing just good as he had done in all other maps he quickly got a lead. Vo0 raging a bit didn't help the match as Chance was just able to increase his lead and win it easily, 14-5.

Chance won 3-0, took third place and $1000, Vo0 had to be satisfied with $700. They will both be going to the World Championship at CeBIT.
