A day of surprises has come to an end as Dahang and Chance takes first in their respective groups with Vo0 and Rapha finishing second. The semi-finals will be played tomorrow, Saturday, starting 21.00 CET.Group B with Rapha, Dahang, Gellehsak and Sparks was clear from the start, Dahang and Rapha would move on to the playoffs. However most predictions said that Shane 'rapha' Hendrixson would take first with Tim 'DaHanG' Fogarty getting second in the group. Now, perhaps it was that Rapha wasn't feeling well before the event, as he mentioned in an interview, but facing Dahang he lost 0-2 in maps, and places second in his group.
Rapha will now have to face Chance 'Chance' Lacina who finished first in his group while Dahang will go up against Sander 'Vo0' Kaasjager that actually beat Chance but lost to Thomas 'griffin' Wall. Griffin lost his match against Chance more because of playing bad than Chance playing good however, as he faced Brian 'dkt' Flander he apparently fixed the flaws in his game as he went on to beat both Vo0 and Dkt. However the Canadian will not move on to the playoffs due to having lost more maps than Vo0 and Chance who he is tied with on points. Dkt not managing to win a single match placed last in his group.
Also because of Rapha making his way into the playoffs and already being qualified to the final event at CeBIT, the other three have also qualified. So while it may seem strange, North America will be sending three Americans and a Dutchman to the event at CeBIT.
The semi-finals of the American QuakeLive championship will start at 21.00 CET.
