Repeat offenders sTa banned from WC3L

ImageThe German team of sTa INT have been banned from this season's WC3L.

ESL appears to be clamping down on badly behaved teams as sTa Gaming have received a ban for reaching six penalty points. Although none of the points were accrued for any major offenses, the team's log shows them to be repeat offenders on a number of minor charges. The most amusing of these is 0.5 points for playing with the wrong game colours in a broadcast match.

The final straw that broke the six point boundary was the late scheduling of sTa's match against Serious Gaming which should have been played last month. It was the second time the German organisation fell foul of this rule after an earlier game against Evil Geniuses also netted them a penalty point in early November.

Although the late scheduling of matches is something that leagues have been trying to clamp down on for years, the management of sTa must be somewhat disappointed by their exit. To be removed from the biggest team league in the world for minor misdemeanors appears harsh but the example that has been made of sTa should serve as a warning to other teams.

The team will be removed from the current WC3L season and will also be barred from the next one. As usual, all games will be reset to 0-7 defeats for the opposing team.
