The American Evil Geniuses side have dispatched the WCG gold medalists to the lower bracket on the same map, nuke, the Poles beat fnatic on a few weeks ago.Evil Geniuses had beaten mTw.dk but it was an mTw few of us recognised from their WCG bronze or DreamHack 2nd place. After AGAiN 's domination of MYM this should have been a victory for the Poles on paper, especially as nuke is a good map for the team on either side. In fact it was the Americans who proved the better team as they pulled a first half back from the brink to win it narrowly. Then in the second they weathered the offensive storm of AGAiN and took the key rounds they needed. EG take the upset and charge into the upper bracket finals.
AGAiN 12:16 Evil Geniuses (nuke 7:8 5:8)
First half
AGAiN came out strong winning the pistol as EG failed to get a single kill. On the 3rd round storm killed three at upper with a galil quickly. The round was at 2v2 and lurppis killed an AGAiN player heading to go down the vent to make it 2v1 for EG. neo was the one alive for AGAiN and he killed lurppis from rafters and then got the win 1v1 to make it 3:0. EG bought AKs in the 4th but lost it and the following eco to go down 0:5. Then came the first American round win as two kills from lurppis and gfn in a round which saw them go outside and lower via the ramp, not losing a man.
EG's outside push was stifled thanks to loord hiding behind the pole in garage and killing two, one entrance side and another going below ladder. This caused EG to slow down and then the AGAiN defense had their locations pinpointed, 6:1 AGAiN. The Americans came back on the next round and got a key round at upper. This sparked them off on a run as they took the 9th round which saw a fRoD win a 1v2 with two AK kills from the vent, following a melee which had quickly wiped out other team-mates and enemies at lower.
On the 10th round AGAiN looked set to surprise EG by eco rounding them after they got it to 4v2 with their USPs. The remaining EG players, Storm and n0thing, worked together though to go lower and win the round, 6:4 AGAiN. On the 11th three nice headshots from fRoD's AK allowed EG to run over upper and pull within one round. The EG train continued to roll and they took the next three, to go up 8:6 and give them a seven round winning streak. On the 14th they were 2v2 with the bomb planted, TaZ and loord working their magic with deagles and AKs. Despite the AGAiN players killing one Storm was able to win the 1v2 behind the blast door with a rifle in his typical clutch fashion.
The last round of the half went to the Poles thanks to two kills from LUq and kuben, allowing them to keep the game close.
Second half
EG got the pistol round as gfn won a 1v2 which saw him straight defuse while neo was behind the window side blast door at the top and didn't attack. AGAiN gambled by buying AKs and it almost paid off as they finished the round with four kills, two from LUq and two from neo, but it was the four kills of gfn at upper which proved more important as EG took the round. At 10:7 EG the Poles clawed by a round with deagles and galils as neo took two and LUq's deagle took two. The next saw kuben and LUq killing two each and the half was level and the score 10:9 EG overall. After the game was tied up following EG's eco one might have expected AGAiN to take over and win the game, but it was EG who took control.
The Americans put together a five round streak to reach map point. The 9th round saw three kills from gfn and his score go to 14-7 on the half. TaZ got 1v2 with the bomb planted at lower on the 10th but lurppis killed him as the Finn came down from the ramp. AGAiN wasn't going to go down quietly as they won the 11th with good one on one fights, such as neo going window outside to kill fRoD who was AWPing at the entrance to below ladder room. AGAiN had managed to secure the round without any EG player killing them, until lurppis killed three exiting the lower site and coming down the outside stairs.
An AGAiN plant 3v3 at upper after neo had killed two rafters then turned into a 3v2 and the EG players decided to save, 15:12 EG. The upset came on the 13th round as two kills from fRoD and Storm were enough to send the round and the map win EG's way.
EG now face SK Gaming in the upper bracket final, while AGAiN will look to wreak havoc in the lower bracket as they face KerchNET.

do you honestly think you could ask money for a photo with players that maybe didn't want you to take their picture ?
take it as free publicity and stop being so ignorant, you need a little extra money ?
what if an EG player goes on HLTV.org and says he doesn't want you to have a photo with him on the website ? you would say he is an arrogant prick.
I do not think the one who took this photo asked the EG players if he can take a photo, you cannot ask copyright over a photo with someone who didn't give you his permission in the first place. Show me a release form that gives you permission to upload the photo on your website, signed by the EG players, and i will gladly agree with you, until then, i suggest you stop being so ignorant and enjoy the free publicity.
I am not the ignorant part in this discussion, come back when you actually understand what is going on.
what kind of judgement is that? if they don't want us to take a photo they must stay away. how does this make you less ignorant. just because they can't hide from you, doesn't mean you have any permission to take the photo or expect to claim any copyright over the photo, they can technically sue you if you do not remove the photo from your website at their request.
i think you get more than what you paid from the publicity they(SK) are making for you.
have you ever seen censored faces on some video footage ? do you know why that face was censored ? because the one who made the video did not have that person's permission to use his face, just like in some music videos the artists do not have permission to show a company's logo, much like what you are doing, i can clearly see EG's logo in the photos, and claiming that EG has nothing to say on the matter makes you even more ignorant.
i do understand what is going on, you are trying to make some more money by claiming ridiculous copyright over something that you, yourself, have no copyright upon, if the photos were for personal use, not public use over the internet, then, i agree with you, you don't need their permission. but i don't think SK went into your house or hacked your computer to find this photo.
if you are so keen of your photos, add a watermark. I think you should be grateful that SK does in fact acknowledge you as the owner of the photo and states the name of your website on their website, thus, advertising your website, you don't see them asking for money.
About the "publicity" SK is providing us, then it is of little value, we are already heavily exposed on the CS marked, and we will decide ourselves if we would like to trade our photographs for publicity, thank you very much.
We do not wish to obscure our images with watermarks, and we shouldn't have to, because we have copyright law to protect our work.
It is very simple, SK should stop infringing on our copyright.
i can take a photo of a stadium, play with it in photoshop and claim copyright, without fear of getting sued by some photographer, BUT, i cannot sell that photo because it contains other copyrighted material(logos and others).
but what you are doing is this: i made a print in photoshop, then you see my print at an EXPO, you take a photo of that print, and then claim copyright over it and want to sell it, it just doesn't work like that, if i have copyright over that print i can SUE you. just like EG has copyright on their OWN LOGO and can SUE you if you do not remove it or give copies of the photo to them to give to whomever they want to, depending on what they want to achieve(free publicity or money).
so the only one here infringing rights is SK ? what about you ? you have released photos containing copyrighted material(LOGO) but just because EG does not have the lack of ethics that you do you don't see them asking for the photos to be removed or censored.

-Other Rights — In no way are any of the following rights affected by the license:
""Rights other persons may have either in the work itself or in how the work is used, such as publicity or privacy rights.""
So a photographer that is taking pictures of a football match between two football teams, should ask those teams for permission? Do you even know what media is?
And that you blame HLTV.org for lack of ethics when it is SK that are copying images is just hilarious..
you are telling me i don't understand the copyright laws, i just showed you the laws, i have a better grasp of the copyright laws than you imagine, stop pretending you do in fact know what we are talking about.
@ Nomad: yes, lack of ethics, SK could have used the photo and not give any credit to HLTV.org whatsoever, and in saying that you don't need their publicity is pure ignorance.
and telling me that i can't understand the copyright laws is again a wrong statement, i will tell you what i told MIRA, you CANNOT sell a photo which contains other copyrighted material without the approval of the other copyright owners. Being in business where copyright is everywhere i can assure you that i know what i'm talking about.
i work in a field where copyright is a very important thing, so i suggest you keep quiet
(In Sweden, which is the country we're currently talking about) You can take a photo of whomever or whatever you want. If you're in a private area, you might be forbidden to take photos. Nobody is allowed to take the photos away from you. If it doesn't include marketing/merchandising, you can use photos of people without their conscent. You can even continue to take photos of them even if they tell you to stop.
If you're able to read Swedish, you can read more about it here: http://www.fotosidan.se/cldoc/1746.htm.
I'm going to make a wild guess and say that if you're actually in the copyright business, you aren't successful.
because is a perfect example of someone trying to sell a photo which contains a copyrighted element, in this case 2 logos(msi and EG), now, if any one of them doesn't want you to use the logo and think that you portray their company in a degrading way, they can ask you to censor their logo, remove the photo, or they can ask you money to be able to use the logo on your website, forum, as it can be conceived as though your website/forum has something to do with their company, and they are empowered by this law in most of the states, and can follow legal actions against you.
i gave an example of such a thing, if you photograph one of my paintings i can legally SUE you because you used my work to make money without asking for my consent or in some cases you did not give me x percentage of your gainings from selling that photo.
as for individuals, i have the right to contact you and tell you that i want my face censored in a photo or video, and if you refuse to do it, then i can take legal actions against you because you are violating my privacy.
and SK-Gaming did not infringe any rights because they also had a, what people might call a Disclaimer, stating that in fact the elements used belong to their respective owners and not to them, as weak as this Disclaimer may seem, it is very powerful in court.
and i will stop here cause it seems that everyone is an "expert" in copyright laws.
