This matchup was a case of two teams' whose recent successes came from what was originally termed the 'easier bracket' until a team from it won the event. MYM made it to the finals of DreamHack without facing SK or fnatic only to win the event anyway and make that a moot point. tp.uSports, with F_1N, managed 4th at WCG after losing to AGAiN and mTw.dk but once the Poles won the event suddenly that bracket changed to looking like the stronger. Regardless in this match it was clear who the weaker of the two teams was as MYM allowed a couple of rounds here and there but manhandled the Russians otherwise.

First half

MYM came out strong with the pistol and the next two to jump up 3:0. tp.uSports took back a round thanks to four kills from OverDrive, the man who had been missing from their WCG run. Two kills from MODDII and Delpan took the 5th round for the Swedes and an eco meant it was 5:1 overall. The Russians then got a run going as they continually hit A, usually via long. On the 8th four kills from LeX were just the ticket for the round, then a dosia 1v1 with the bomp planted on the next got the win also. 5:5 and the game was tied up, but any thoughts that this would be a competitive game began to go out of the window as the Swedes locked down.

Three kills from MODDII and two from Jumpy were all the 11th round needed to swing the lead back to MYM. Jumpy continued to be the man of the hour as he killed two along with Delpan in the 13th, finishing the half up on 20-9. MYM went into the half up 10:5. The 12th round had been key in costing the Russians as they had gotten 2v1 against Jumpy but he managed to kill both.


Second half

tp.uSports won the pistol thanks to two kills from OverDrive and dosia, with two of the former and one of the later coming in a 3v3. This gave the Russian team an opportunity to run up the score, which they did to 3:0. Two kills from zet and Delpan took the 4th for MYM and in the 6th three kills from pita took that to continue the MYM run. From there on it was a MYM story with nothing the Russian team could do about it. The Swedes continued to win rounds until they hit 16 and then kept going even beyond that, giving up only one round to tp.uSports.
